Girls Circle

A Year-Long Rites of Passage

Some transitions in life happen so quietly that we almost miss them. The shift from childhood into adolescence is one of them and it's one every person only moves through once.

Girls Circle holds space for that shift. It's a weekly gathering for young girls on the edge of adolescence, built around plant wisdom, self-care, nature connection, and ceremony. Here, female bodies find belonging in a peer group held with respect and tenderness‚ an oasis where it's safe to be silly, messy, curious, scared, and everything in between. A place to set the masks down.

Turning with The Seasons

Just as the earth moves through spring, summer, fall, and winter, our bodies move through their own inner seasons every month. In this program, girls learn to recognize the four phases of their own cycle — energized and outward like summer, reflective and turning inward like winter — and to meet each one with the right plant ally, self-care ritual, art project or moment of rest. Through nature walks, herbalism, sisterhood and hands-on tracking tools, girls build a lasting relationship with their own rhythms, learning that there's no season to fight against — only one to understand.

What Happens in Girls Circle

We meet for a year, weekly, after school, because we believe growing girls need consistency more than novelty. Each week builds on the last, deepening trust and laying groundwork that lasts for years‚ not just a semester.

No two girls are the same, and no two groups are either. Every curriculum bends around the real, changing needs of the girls in the circle, with nature as our steadiest teacher. Plants move through their own seasons of growth, bloom, and rest without losing themselves ‚ girls learn to do the same.

Sessions weave together:

  • Plant identification and herbal self-care

  • Female anatomy and the magic of the cycles

  • Movement, mindfulness, and somatic awareness

  • Song, art, and nature craft

  • Ceremony and ritual

  • Communication and conflict-resolution skills

  • Confidence-building through healthy risk-taking

Girls leave with real tools‚ for their bodies, their emotions, and friendships‚ that carry them through adolescence and into adulthood.

Why This Matters

The years around this transition bring a new kind of intellect forward. Girls start asking questions with a depth of curiosity they didn't have before. But the same years also stir up insecurity, doubt, and anger‚ feelings that left unattended, tend to curdle into isolation instead of self-understanding.

Our culture rarely offers guidance here. Girls Circle exists to fill that gap: to give girls trusted mentors, plant allies, and a peer community during the stretch of life when they need mentorship most.

The Remembering

What would our world look like if every girl grew up surrounded by loving guidance during her most confusing, most formative years?

That question is why Earth Within Girls Circle exists.

We believe in honoring the thresholds that are woven into human development‚ the ones our culture has largely forgotten how to mark. Through ceremony, plant wisdom, and nature-based self-care, we're building a different way forward for the next generation of women, one Girls Circle at a time.

Beyond Weekly Meetings

Every block includes a parent gathering. Throughout the year girls and families can look forward to plant walks, hikes, guest mentors, sleepovers, outings, and ceremonies at key threshold moments, with parents invited in when it counts most.
